Craving for sweet but on diet? Here’s a Sugar free Guilt free healthy version of heavenly goodness. And guess what? You can make these under 10 minutes. You can even have these as a pre or post workout snack. Dates can also be replaced with dry figs (Anjeer). Dry fruits used in this recipe are pretty basic ones available easily at home. But you can easily replace or include other dry fruits like Brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, pistachios, peanuts, flax seeds, hazel nuts, etc.

Ingredients:

Ingredients lists for this recipe is pretty small and inclusive, it can be altered with any nuts of your choice.

  • 2 cups of Soft dates (seedless)
  • 1/2 cup each of Almonds, Cashews n Walnuts (you can skip any nuts or add more nuts as mentioned above)
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp grated nutmeg

Procedure:

Dry roast each of the nuts seperately on a pan for about 4-5 minutes in low to medium flame and keep aside to cool down. You can even roast in an oven for about 1 min and check. Do not over roast as nuts might get bitter in taste.

Once they cool down, add them into a mixer to grind in a pulse mode. Be careful as we don’t want a powdered form of these nuts. There should be few solid pieces when we grind on a pulse mode (i.e. start n stop method for 2 seconds each)

Take out half of the grounded nuts mix and add half batch of soft dates. and again grind in pulse mode. Once they are mixed together, take out the mixture and fill the mixer jar with second batch of grounded nuts and seedless dates. Again run them on pulse mode and this time you can add grated nutmeg and cardamom powder.

Once the mixture is pulsed in the grinder, take out and start rolling them into small bite size balls. You can even coat these with desicated coconut to look like snowy balls. Once made, store in an air tight container and these would last for about a month as there is not water content in it.
